Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire: Factor Structure and Measurement Invariance Among Portuguese Male Perpetrators of Intimate Partner Violence

This study aimed to analyze the fit of four-factor model 29-item and 12-item Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire (BPAQ) on a sample Portuguese male perpetrators intimate partner violence (IPV; N = 279) test measurement invariance between type (forensic non-forensic) sentence (prison community). Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) did not support BPAQ version. The BPAQ–short form (BPAQ-SF) showed good fit. Sufferable values for internal consistency convergent discriminant validity were found. Cross-sentence using present cross-sample BPAQ-SF previously collected students was established. Overall, our results as valuable brief psychometrically reliable measure aggression use with both individuals from community IPV different sentences.
